Allison T. Yano (b. 1991) is a multimedia storyteller investigating themes of hybridity, empathy, and futurism while drawing upon global history and
trends in our contemporary society.
Her on-going projects, Visage and HY-METRO-City, are narratives imagined in multiple dimensions while
The Gauze Effect is her first novel.
Yano was raised in rural Ontario, Oregon where her exposure to Cartoon Network’s Toonami and Adult Swim programming became her first creative influences. This mix of pop culture and Yano’s multicultural background fuels her vision
as a storyteller.
She received her B.F.A. in Applied Visual Arts with a Minor in Writing from Oregon State University in 2014,
& her M.F.A. in Painting & Drawing from
Pratt Institute in 2016. Yano has exhibited in both Oregon and New York City.
